Brey-Krause R-1046 Harness Mount Truss - Porsche 981 Cayman '12-16 and GT4

The Brey-Krause R-1046 Shoulder Harness Mount is a revolutionary design for mounting a shoulder harness into the 981 Porsche Cayman. With limited space and mounting options, initial designs would have either limited seat travel or put the belts at too much of an angle to be safe. The R-1046 utilizes the factory Porsche cross-member located behind the carpet to mount the shoulder harness at a proper angle, with 1.5" of height adjustment, without restricting rearward seat travel. Mounting directly to the factory cross-member, Brey-Krause has eliminated the previous 981 spacing and safety issues.

This Product, along with the factory Porsche cross-member, has been tested and certified to handle the types of forces required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration DOT and SAE J385 Rev. MAR 95, Motor Vehicle Seat Belt Anchorages-Performance Requirements.

One R-1046 harness mount is required per seat. The R-1046 is designed for use with bolt in harnesses. The shoulder bolts are 12mm, which allows them to work well with 13mm or .5" bolt in brackets. If you wish to convert an existing wrap around harness for use with the R-1046, we recommend the Schroth B24 bolt in bracket (2 required per seat- sold separately).

To install the Brey-Krause R-1046, no structural modification to the car is required. The R-1046 is ideally suited for any sort of 981 Cayman usage. If you only do 1-2 track events per year, the R-1046 is compact enough to be mounted behind the factory firewall carpet, and never seen when not in use. For more frequent trackers, the shoulder harnesses can be passed through the carpet and rested between the seat back and firewall carpet between events. For dedicated race cars, a bar running behind the seat for belt mounting is no longer necessary, meaning the seat slider can retain its full range of travel.

The new design can work with or without roll-bars or cages as long as the factory cross-member is still installed. The R-1046 can be left in the car when not in use and does not interfere with any of the factory safety systems.
