The RaceCam Hi Resolution Race Camera in car video system is a miniature color video camera designed with both the professional and the amateur racer in mind, bringing them high quality video without the professional price tag. The RaceCam Hi Resolution Race Camera is engineered using various techniques during product development which produced a system that provides colorful, vibration free video. The RaceCam system provides many advantages over a standard camcorder, even camcorders equipped with stabilization circuitry are no match for the "in car" environment.
The RaceCam system consists of a color video camera designed to produce clear and vibration free video while operating in the harsh environment of a race car. The Proprietary VSIB System will produce picture balance rarely seen when it comes to "in car" applications, the results are breathtaking. Most users will have a full view of the drivers hands and feet while still getting a great view of the track ahead, in some cars you can even get a look at the instruments. The built in audio system will allow you to hear the engine, allowing you to estimate engine speed as well as other conditions associated with the vehicle. You can also install a microphone inside your helmet and narrate as you drive the track. Collectively these features will enable you to use recorded information for training and self improvement of performance driving skills.
**How Does the RaceCam Hi Resolution Race Camera Operate?**
The RaceCam provides standard line level audio and video output signals which are then routed to a video recorder (not supplied), any camcorder that has audio / video inputs may be used for this purpose. If you don't own a camcorder or prefer to use a dedicated recorder, signals can be routed to an optional Video recorder available in Digital 8 and Mini DV format. All video recorders must be mounted in our special enclosure to eliminate damaging shock to the recording mechanism, a universal camcorder enclosure will be included with each race cam system. The RaceCam unit also comes with an external microphone for mounting in the drivers compartment, automatically adjustable for recording audio levels from approximately 75 to 120 dB. Quality audio will be produced even from the quietest cars.
**Mounting Specifications**:
The Race Cam systems versatile mounting bracket is designed to be attached to a roll cage or harness guide bar, the bracket is compatible with tubing ranging from 1 through 1.75 inches in diameter. The brackets integrated ball pivot allows the camera to be mounted at almost any angle while still retaining a horizontal view.
