Last weekend while at a Chicago Region PCA Drivers Education event at Road America there were several incidents involving Porsche GT3s. One of these was a very savage hit that surely distroyed the car. In this case, one of the impacts was a frontal one that pushed in the front of the car well into the front "trunk" area. When the medical team got to the crash site the driver was complaining of neck pain, so they sent him to the local hospital for evaluation. Fortunately, the driver escaped serious injury. But the irony of this is this driver had a HANS Device but it was in his trailer. The message here is: they only work if you actually wear them. If you own a HANS device don't get in your race car without it.
