Northstar Motorsports Attends OMP Worldwide Dealer Meeting in Italy
John Ruther
Last Updated: 2010-11-09 02:36:51
John Ruther, President of Northstar Motorsports, attended the OMP Worldwide Dealer Meeting in Ronco Scrivia, Italy on September 12-13. The meeting allowed OMP's Worldwide Dealer Network to meet the new investors in the Company as well as tour their headquarters facility. OMP also previewed their new product line for 2009.
OMP has been one of the world's premier producers of auto racing safety equipment for over 35 years. This year the new products include a new line of racing apparel called OMP One, which has more inovative styling than their traditional line. This line contains new driving suits, shoes and gloves, as well as several new lines of Nomex underwear. OMP also unveiled a completely new line of Vintage motorsports products. This line includes highly styled driving suits, shoes and gloves, as well as a retro styled helmet and two beautiful new wood steering wheels. Also introduced were OMP's new line of casual clothing and accessories called OMP Officina. This product line includes casual shirts, caps, shoes, travel bags and back packs. OMP plans to continue to add new products to all of these new product lines.
Two of the highlights of this trip were being able to do some Kart racing on OMP's brand new state-of-the-art Kart track and going to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. All attandees at the meeting were given an opportunity to drive on this new Kart track. After combining our best lap times from two practice sessions (the first one was in the wet and the second was in the dry) they took the fastest two from each practice group and held a 30 minute race at the end of the day. Even though I'm not a Kart racer I was able to qualify for the race event. At the beginning of the race we had a 5 minute qualifying session where I qualified 4th and I ended up finishing 6th in the race. Below is a photo of the four U.S. OMP Distributors at the Kart facility:
